Gentile da Fabriano was an Italian painter born around the year 1370 in Fabriano, Italy and died around 1427 in Venice, Italy. He was a prominent member of the International Gothic style and is known for his ornate and colorful paintings.

Gentile received his early training as a painter in his hometown of Fabriano and later went on to study in Venice, where he was influenced by the work of local painters. He traveled widely throughout Italy and also worked in Florence, where he was influenced by the work of Giotto and other artists of the Florentine school.

Gentile's most famous work is the "Adoration of the Magi" altarpiece, painted in 1423 for the church of San Domenico in Fiesole, near Florence.
